The GLBT National Help Center provides an online peer-support chat as well as free, confidential counseling over the phone for the GLBT community.
The GLBT National Help Center runs this website, which contains more than 15,000 GLBT resources and offers tools for users to find local community centers, youth groups and support resources.
The creators of the Oscar-winning short film “Trevor” founded The Trevor Project. The organization provides suicide prevention and crisis intervention for LGBTQ youth between the ages of 13 and 24.

Black/POC Community
Black Emotional and Mental Health Crisis Hotline
Mobile Crisis, or Mobile Crisis Rapid Response Teams are a mental health service which supports the community by providing immediate response emergency mental health evaluations and crises services. In many areas they offer an alternative to calling 911 or the police, as professionals who will respond will often be trained in managing mental health crises and distress. However please note; some mobile crisis units may also inform police. This list is provided as a directory resource.
With the barriers affecting access to treatment by members of diverse ethnic and racial groups, the Loveland Therapy Fund provides financial assistance to Black women and girls seeking therapy nationally.
The Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded in 2018 by Taraji P. Henson and led by Executive Director, Tracie Jade Jenkins. The foundation is named in honor of Ms. Henson’s father, Boris Lawrence Henson, who suffered with mental health challenges as a result of his tour of duty in the Vietnam War. They are committed to changing the perception of mental illness in the African-American community by encouraging those who suffer with this debilitating illness to get the help they need.
Sista Ayfa Community Mental Wellness
Sista Afya is a social enterprise that provides low-cost mental wellness services that center the experiences of Black women. They believe that by making mental wellness simple, accessible, affordable, and centered around Black women's experiences, more people will get what they need to have a full, whole life. Also, they believe that community support for people living with mental health conditions can foster healing, growth, freedom, and self-actualization.
The mission of Black Mental Wellness, Corp. is to provide access to evidence-based information and resources about mental health and behavioral health topics from a Black perspective, to highlight and increase the diversity of mental health professionals, and to decrease the mental health stigma in the Black community.
LGBTQ + Psychotherapists of Color
Their members are students through professionals (licensed and unlicensed). They work in a variety of settings, including schools, nonprofit and community-based organizations, government, academia, hospitals and clinics, private practice, and consulting.
"The Safe Place" Is a Minority Mental Health App geared towards the Black Community. African Americans are 20% more likely to experience serious mental health problems than the rest of the general population. However, many black people still do not wish to seek professional help for their mental illnesses. The Purpose of the "Safe Place" is to bring more awareness, education, and hope to this serious issue. Not only can the black community benefit from this app, but also mental health professionals, friends, and family, of ALL colors can be better educated on this issue and do a service by directing their black friends, co workers, etc. to the app.
National Queer and Trans Therapists of Color Network
National Queer and Trans Therapists of Color Network (NQTTCN) is a healing justice organization committed to transforming mental health for queer and trans people of color (QTPoC). They work at the intersection of movements for social justice and the field of mental health to integrate healing justice into both of these spaces. Their overall goal is to increase access to healing justice resources for QTPoC.
Their Mission is to develop, promote and sponsor trusted culturally-relevant educational forums, trainings and referral services that support the health and well-being of Black people and their communities. Their Vision is for the creation of an equitable, respectful and compassionate society. The development of Black communities in which optimal mental health enables children, youth, adults, and families to strive for and embrace their best life.

U.S. Department of Health & Human Services — Mental Health in Adolescents
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Adolescent Health offers information about adolescent mental health across states, adolescent mental health disorders and access to care.
The Jed Foundation is an organization committed to the mental and emotional health of college students and preventing suicide among this population. The foundation runs several free online self-assessment and resource programs for students and campuses. It offers training tools for campus professionals to improve their mental health services for students.
U.S. Government — Youth Mental Health
This is a hub of government information about youth mental health issues, including substance abuse, LGBT issues, bullying and homelessness.
A project of the Jed Foundation that provides a free, confidential online resource about emotional health to more than 1,500 colleges and universities.
LawLifeline is a combined project of the Jed Foundation and Dave Nee Foundation. It is a free, anonymous and confidential online resource for law school students to seek out information about depression, anxiety, suicide, stress and self-harm.
