Plastic takes a lot of time to decompose. It takes up to 20 to 500 years and it will not fully disappear it will just keep getting smaller and smaller. Plastic pollutes the soil. These microplastics can change the earth's physical structure underfoot and limit its capacity to hold water. They also can affect plants by reducing root growth and nutrient uptake. Currently, the single biggest source of microplastic pollution in the soil is fertilizers produced from organic matter such as manure. Plastics can cause toxic effects on soil organisms through complex interactions.
Producing plastic is cheap but uses many toxic chemicals and colors. Did you know that the recycling of plastic is costly? Plastic can harm animals because they can be trapped and caught by plastic and change their habitat. This makes some creatures' lives end, and because of that, many species can get instinct. Plastic should be banned because of how many creatures and humans it kills.
Considering the 8.3 million tons of plastic water ever made in the ocean and also 50 percent of it was made in the last 13 years. Scientists predicted from here to 2050 there will be more than 850 million tons of plastic. Additionally from here 2050 there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. The consequences of plastic are choking marine animals and the soil and poison damaging the groundwater, which can also cause serious health impacts. For plastic to decompose it takes up to 20 to 500 years and it will consider the 8.3 million tons of plastic water ever made in the ocean and also 50 percent of it was made in the last 13 years.
Plastic causes a lot of harmful consequences. It can kill animals like turtles because animals don’t know what it is and just eat it. When It eats the plastic they die. Plastic bags block drains. They clog up gutters and drains causing water and sewage to overflow and become the breeding grounds of germs and bacteria that cause diseases. Plastic releases are toxic when burned. When plastic burns it releases dangerous toxins that are dangerous to health.

For example, some birds fly and eat some fish but when there is plastic they eat plastic and die. If discarded improperly, plastic waste can harm the environment and biodiversity. At least 14 million tons of plastic are in the ocean every year. Plastic debris is currently the most abundant type of litter in the ocean, making up 80% of all marine debris found from surface waters to deep-sea sediments.
