This period of time and history that we are living in is widely known as the Information Age or the Network Society. However not everybody is happy with this terms, Michael Schrage opts for the Relationship Revolution claiming that information is not the essential most important issue, but the way that our relationships are implemented by the use of computers and telecommunications. He claims that if one wants to succeed in this new age s/he should stop thinking of networks and digital technologies as media for managing information and to start thinking of them as media to manage relationships.
Michael Schrage believes that "the real value of a medium lies less in the information that it carries than in the communities it creates", therefore the growing use of digital media in our daily lives, in all the different spheres of life, either at an intimate level, a business level or at an institutional level will force individuals as well as organisations to redefine the nature of the relationships it creates and subsequently that of the ones already existing.
