This scholarship is for students who demonstrate strong financial need and achievement who will be attending a 2 or 4 year college/university.

This scholarship is for any student who demonstrates leadership, achievement, and is planning to attend college.

This scholarship is for students who have worked hard academically in high school and could not otherwise attend college.

This scholarship is for a student who plans to attend Mayland Community College, Mars Hill College, Carson-Newman, or Brevard.

This scholarship is for students pursuing further studies in fine arts such as theater, music, dance or visual arts.

This scholarship is for a student pursuing a degree in education with the intent to come back to Yancey county to teach. Applicants must demonstrate academic achievement and financial need.

Scholarship Information: 

3 scholarship(s) for a senior(s) w/ a strong desire to complete a vocational training program with evidence of financial need. Student must 1) show initiative to see out ways to improve themselves, 2) demonstrate determination to learn a trade/occupation, 3) have passion to pursue a vocation and complete the necessary training/school required, 4) show a commitment to attending a trade school, community college, or technical school, and 5) may be working to overcome a personal obstacle in their life.

Scholarship Information:

This scholarship goes to seniors who plan to go to college and use their education to improve the lives of the people of Yancey County. Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher and demonstrate financial need. This scholarship will be awarded to a senior who intends to obtain their RN or BSN. Evidence of a commitment to a career in nursing must be demonstrated. There will be an interview by the WCB committee.
