How to measure the height of . . .

1) Choose a tall object such as a basketball hoop, a building. . .

2) Download this document and write down the measurement results.

3) Measure the object's height following the steps and the methods below:

    • First go to this site that explains the Ratio/Shadow Method and follow the instructions to measure the object's height.

  • Next, visit this page that explains the Mirror Method. Here you have a video that can help you to get the right height!

    • Then watch the next video that shows how to make and use a Clinometer. Follow the recommended guidelines to measure the object's height using the Clinometer Method.

  • You can use these two handouts: one from "Alabama learning exchange" and the other from www.globe.ee to help you to use the clinometer:
