As you include more trade details into Share Trade Tracker the ability to filter and sort those details becomes really useful to analyse and track parts of your portfolio. The Filter function available on the Share Trade Tracker menu is designed to help you quickly and easily focus on parts of your portfolio.
The options available can be used by themselves or in combination to give you a specific selection of data. For example you might want to report on the performance of a specific portfolio for the previous financial year, by selecting the portfolio and the require financial year you can produce a filtered result across all worksheets. From there you can export that to PDF or print.
Note: selecting nothing from a filter option means that all those values are included to the filter. For example if you do not select anything from the list of portfolio's then all portfolio's are included to the filter result.
Select a Portfolio: select one or multiple portfolios
Select a Security: select one or multiple securities
Trade Date Range: specify a start and end trade date to filter trades for a date range
Select Financial Year: select a financial year to select only trades for that financial year
Select Position Status: option to select any or all of the position status, #Open, #Sold, #Partial. For this option only the worksheets that use the position status will be filtered
Once you have set the filter options then select "Apply" and that filter will be set across all worksheets. Even after closing the filter form any filter that has been set will remain in place. To clear a filter you must open the Filter form and select "Reset".
Sort Options: The sort used throughout Share Trade Tracker can be changed by selecting different fields in this section. The default option is trade date (descending) then security code. Select any other available fields and then select "Apply" and the sort will be set for all worksheets.
