Mandatory Goal Setting Meeting: Wednesday, October 11, 2023 @ 2:15 PM in the Lecture Hall, OR Friday, October13, 2023 @ 6:30 AM in the Lecture Hall
Essay DUE: Wednesday, November 8, 2023, submitted to the UB offices by 2:00 PM
Application and Tax Income Information DUE: Friday, December 15, 2023, submitted to the UB offices by 2:00 PM
Interviews: Monday, January 22, 2024, through Friday, February 2, 2024, by appointment
1st Semester grades issued: January 22, 2024
Selection Meeting: Tuesday, February 6, 2024
New Recruits Notified: Friday, February 9, 2024

An academic year class called Individual Skill Building
A six-week summer enrichment academic program
Attends Wayne Memorial High School
Are first generation college students (neither parent has a four-year degree) and/or from families of financial need (based on U.S. government guidelines)
Have potential for success in an accelerated curriculum
9th, 10th, and 11th graders must attend one (1) recruitment session. The meeting time will be posted on our website, Facebook, Twitter, and in our Google classroom.
Students will complete a goal-setting form. They will then receive a self-evaluation survey and essay prompt.
Student and parents will receive a link to complete the secure application and upload their income verification online. This income verification includes your 2022 taxes and/or any disability income, SS income, child care, etc.
Students will need 2 teacher recommendations
Program staff will verify student eligibility, schedule interviews, and wait for 1st semester grades to post in mid-January
Committee selects participants based on information collected throughout process
Presentations will be made during 9th grade social studies classes in September
Students will attend a mandatory meeting online in late October to begin the application process
Essays are due at the beginning of November and students will be given the application packet with requested tax information
Applications and tax information are due during December
Interviews will be held during January, after 1st semester grades have posted
Selection meeting will be held at the beginning of February
