About Mrs. Brain

Originally from Massachusetts, Mary Beth Brain earned a degree in mathematics from Hamilton College in upstate New York, and went on to teach math in the western United States before returning to New England. She loves teaching in southeastern Vermont and living just over the river in southwestern New Hampshire, a beautiful region where she can enjoy some of her hobbies including backpacking, biking, rock climbing, and xc skiing. Mrs. Brain also completed a master's degree in Teaching with Technology at Marlboro College Graduate School in Brattleboro, and enjoys finding ways to integrate this experience into her classroom. She brings to PCS over fifteen years of experience teaching mathematics to both high school and middle school students, in public and private schools. Mrs. Brain is excited to be teaching in the Putney Central School community as the middle school math teacher, grade levels 6,7, and 8.
