Geared toward all staff working with students age 18-22 years old, and continuing our very successful mini-training, this presentation will cover a range of issues (such as liability, transportation, logistics, and use of WAI funds), and offer strategies to enhance any current program. A survey will be distributed to WAI Region 5 for participants to describe their current program model and focus the discussion.
Balancing Responsibilities: District and WorkAbility I

Federal law requires Transition Services in IEPs for students ages 16-22. At this session, we cover both the legal framework and WorkAbility I’s role based on our Array of Services. As WorkAbility I cannot supplant all district transition services, learn how to balance responsibility, strengthen district transition opportunities, and provide the best outcomes for students.
California Career Resource Network (CalCRN)

This workshop will provide an overview of the California Career Resource Network’s (CalCRN) free online career exploration resources including the enhanced California Career Zone and the soon to be launched California Career Center. These career guidance resources can be used to assist in the development of student transition plans.

Make sure you bring business cards to pass on to participants at your table so we can keep the communication going. Come brainstorm how we can help each other!
