Hello Region 4

We thought that it would be fun to have a mini craft fair or mini marketplace at our Region 4 meeting in Redding.

We are encouraging programs that produce a product in their classrooms or through clubs to bring those products to showcase/sell/market at our regional meeting.

Jina (the flyer guru) has developed a lovely flyer promoting this event.

It is important to RSVP if you will be bringing items so that we have a space for everyone to display their wares. See the flyer for details about your RSVP.

To all of those who are not bringing anything to market to others, be sure to bring some extra cash as there may be some great items that you would want to purchase.

This will also be a great opportunity for us all to get some ideas of the types of products that our students can produce and market through a classroom business enterprise.

See attached flyer for details.

We will be putting on a basic Database training for the WorkAbility Database on January 25th from 10 am – 1 pm. Location – The Roseville Joint Union High School District Professional Development Center, 1750 Chelsea Way, Roseville, CA 95661

Here is a link to the address and the location on Google maps. Click on the underlined address once you get into the link.

o Your log in name and password for the database. (If you do not have one, let me know ASAP)

If you want a jump start to the learning you can go to the PPT with this link. This is most likely the PPT that we will be using but we have some other tidbits to share as well.

Hello Region 4

I know that some programs need early advance information to give to their fiscal department for upcoming conferences.

I have attached a Save the Date flyer for the Region 4 Spring Conference in South Lake Tahoe.

This flyer does not have conference costs or hotel costs yet as we are still finalizing the contract with hotel.

Based on what I know this is a guestimate of what those costs might look like.

Rooms - from $90 per night to $130 per night based on number of people in the room and number and type of beds. Taxes and a resort fee will be added.

Registration costs - my best guess is $100 - $125 per person. We will try to keep this as low as we can because we understand that programs spent a lot of money on the Bridge to the Future Institute.

Please remember that project managers are the only ones mandated to be at these meetings but we encourage others to come if you can find room in your budget. I personally also feel it is important for committee members to be there to report out the work of their committees.

NOTE: ABOVE COSTS ARE ESTIMATES AT THIS TIME.

We hope to finalized costs early in January and get the registration and hotel booking information to you then.

Thank you.

Wishing all of our wonderful WorkAbility Region 4 members a wonderful Holiday Season and a happy New Year.

Hello WAI Advisory:

I just met with Greg Schmidt from CVS Corporate, and he is a strong supporter of our CVS/WAI partnership. Greg is thrilled with the progress on our MOUs, signing 2-3 new agreements a day. He plans to have two California contacts in the near future, but for the present he is our WAI contact for CVS. Greg prefers all documents to be emailed to him, but his full contact information is below. Please share with the field.

Again, let’s thank CVS for their willingness to build on a great relationship that affords so many opportunities for our students.

Finally, here is a thank you to local WAI sites for working quickly to re-engage with CVS.

Hello Region 4:

We have not even completed our state wide Bridge to the Future Conference and here I am sending you this.

Shawna and I just wanted you to be able to get the Spring Region 4 Training (mandated for WorkAbility – in the Statement of Assurances) on your calendars.

We will be going to the Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel in South Lake Tahoe for meetings on April 11 & 12, 2019.

This is the old Embassy Suites in South Lake Tahoe for those of us who have been around Region 4 for some time.

There will be a full day of meetings on Thursday April 11th and a half day on Friday April 12th.

More information will be forthcoming once we are finished with the statewide training. We just wanted to get a date and location out to you early.

Enjoy your weekend.

Below is a link to Bridge to the Futures breakout sessions.

This is not a complete outline of the days and times that sessions are happening because there are no keynote speaker sessions or the Regional meeting sessions built into this schedule. Those times are viewable on the Ca Transition Web site under Institute at a Glance.

This is put together on the SCHED app and can be downloaded on your phone apparently. SCHED.com

If you hover over sessions you will see a brief description of the session focus.

The sessions are color coded by topic strand to also make it more user friendly if you are looking for a specific strand.

The schedule is viewable in a variety of formats.

https://bridgestothefutureiv2018.sched.com/

If you would like to be a room facilitator in a particular session the Conference planners are looking for help.

Please email me or Shawna the session title, date and time so that we can forward on the information to those who need it.

It is my understanding that there will some kind of printed schedule available at the conference but at this time this is the information that we have available.

I have not downloaded the app to my phone so have no idea how viewer friendly it is.
