Keys
Keys for your office/studio and mailbox can be picked up anytime now fin the School of Music office, 2134 Dalton Center during regular business hours. For any keys you might need related to your assistantship assignment, you should have your supervisor email music-ugrd@wmich.edu to authorize them. It’s your responsibility to make sure that these keys are secure at all times, and to return them at the end of each semester.
Parking
First the important information: campus police does not ticket in student lots from August 19 to September 1, although the vehicle must be legally parked (in an actual marked parking spot). This is the only break that you will ever get from Parking Services!
Parking permits will be issued to Graduate Assistants at the Parking Services building, 2507 W. Michigan Ave, and at the end of August at One Stop Convenience Center in the Bernhard Center. Please be aware however, that they are only valid for the duration of your appointment – specific dates are on your appointment letter. Parking permits are one of the contractual benefits of being a Graduate Assistant, but in order to receive one, you must provide your vehicle registration (in your own name), your GA appointment letter, and your Bronco ID, and your driver’s license. Parking Services should have a list, provided by the University, of all Graduate Appointees. If you need additional documentation of your GA status, please see the Office Assistant in the School of Music office. Contact Parking Services (269-387-4609), or visit their web pages to learn how to register your vehicle (www.parking.wmich.edu).
Copies
Please ask the SoM office staff for the location of the copy order forms if you have not used them before. You may make copies for classroom purposes only (e.g., quizzes) free of charge. Orders are picked up at 9:30 a.m. each day for delivery to your mailbox the following day after 10 a.m. Please plan ahead. Orders made after 9:30 a.m. will not be ready until after 10 a.m. two days later. Same-day service is not available. We suggest attaching your hard copy to the copy order form. Alternatively, you may email a PDF with detailed copy instructions to the concerts assistant, david.r.bernard@wmich.edu, who manages the copy orders.
