Sculpture 1 & 2

Consider the role of structural engineering in the design of artwork as we solve creative problems. The sculpture program at Windsor High School focuses on students' understanding of spatial relationships through the manipulation of 3-dimensional media. Sculpture 1 begins with traditional techniques such as carving and wire-working and materials such as paper, plaster and foam. As students advance to Sculpture 2, so do the materials - such as working with bronze - and concepts, as they are encouraged to now convey messages and stories with their work. Students looking to continue in sculpture can move on to Pre-AP Art and AP Studio Art where they can complete a sculpture portfolio for the AP Art Exam and earn college credit.
