Congratulations to Seniors Tyler McGuigan and Khalid Lai Walters who each had their portfolios accepted on the spot by Maine College of Art during their visit to Windsor High School this week. Students from various classes including Sculpture, Fashion, Graphic Design, Drawing ECE and AP Art all attended the college presentation focusing on preparing a portfolio for submission, majors offered by the program and careers in art. Tyler and Khalid volunteered to have their portfolios critiqued by the Admissions Counselor and received the prestigious recognition of having their outstanding portfolios accepted on the spot. MECA’s competitive art program focuses on putting artists to work and boasts alumni working everywhere from the the Effects Animation Department at Disney to Vice President of Design at Hasbro. Tyler and Khalid each presented 15-20 selected works from a variety of the WHS Art Classes they have taken including Drawing, Painting, Sculpture and AP Art to show their exceptional technical skill and extraordinary conceptual explorations.
