French and Spanish Honor Societies

Sociedad Honoraria HispánicaThe Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica is an honor society for high school students enrolled in Spanish and/or Portuguese, sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP).

Windber High School students who have studied French or Spanish for three years and have a 93% or higher average are eligible for induction into the Société Honoraire de Français and the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica. Société Honoraire de Français - AATFThe establishment of a chapter of the Société Honoraire de Français (high school) or the Jeunes Amis du Français (middle/elementary school) provides an opportunity to recognize student excellence. Each group organizes an annual Creative Writing Contest, and SHF inductees can compete for Travel Awards.
