We use the company Carnegie Learning for our French and Spanish programs. We will be using their textbooks T'es Branché? for our French courses and the textbook ¡Qué chévere! for our Spanish courses.
Each course is designed to develop an authentic and practical understanding of the Spanish and French language and culture. Students will have the ability to express their thoughts, feelings, and opinions in the target language within basic, real-life situations and learning scenarios. All new concepts will be introduced in context while incorporating various listening, speaking and writing activities.
I am more than willing to tutor after school. Please do not hesitate to ask for extra help at any time. However, you must make arrangements with me due to family obligations.
I graduated from Penn West California with a dual degree in French and Spanish Education in 1996 which certifies me K-12. I've studied abroad in Spain and France. I have traveled extensively to many French and Spanish speaking countries such as Spain, France, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Luxembourg, Switzerland, and Belgium. I am also certified to teach English as a Second Language through the IU8 ESL Program Specialist Program. I am also certified to teach Business Education courses through my Praxis certification in this field.
I am the adviser for the Spanish Honor Society and French Honor Society. We are hoping to do some fun activities and cultural experiences this school year.
I am also organizing a trip to France in Spain in the summer of 2027 for our World Languages students.
I have been married since 2001 to my husband Ron. We have one son named Jensen that we adopted from Guangzhou, China in 2007. We live together in Davidsville, PA. We also have a sweet, lovable French Bulldog named Penny who is our spoiled little baby. We are avid travelers and music lovers. I have been teaching at Windber Area School District for 29 years.
