Welcome to Forensic Science! Forensic science includes all areas of scientific endeavor, such as medicine, psychiatry, psychology, geology, physics, chemistry, and biology. Topics such as arson, blood typing, chromatography, DNA fingerprinting, hair and fiber analysis, handwriting analysis, and toxicology will be studied in this course.
Students will use scientific knowledge and methods to help determine the cause of a crime or accident and identify criminals. They will observe crime scenes, collect and analyze data, and draw conclusions. Case studies will also be analyzed and critiqued throughout the course.
Students will also understand and apply scientific concepts pertaining to the both the physical and the living environment. They will also apply their knowledge of science to address real-life problems and make informed decisions.
