This is going to be such a great year! I am so excited to see you!

Hello Kids!

I am so very excited to meet you! I can't wait to see you on the first day of school. I know it is hard to let go of summer break, but I promise you, we will have fun in my class. I LOVE to laugh, be silly and to smile every day but also to get some serious learning in. I hope you do, too! I want to make each day that you come to school one that you are eager to tell your family about. You will learn a lot of cool things, meet new friends and get to know me! I share a lot of funny stories about myself and my family! Get ready for a GREAT year!

Hello Parents!

I am so excited to not only meet your child, but to get to know you and your family, as well. I thoroughly believe in and enjoy making connections with all of my student's families and working together with you for your child's success. Please mark your calendar for our Curriculum Night, Thursday, September 3rd with a welcome from the staff and then on to my classroom in room 20 (upstairs toward the end of the 2nd and 4th grade hallway). I will be sharing important information with you about the school year and my classroom procedures and expectations. Plus, I want to answer any questions you may have for me! I look forward to a successful and wonderful school year with your child! It will be such a fun year!

School Supplies

For the first day of school it is helpful for your child to bring ALL school supplies with them on day one. We will be labeling, collecting and putting our school supplies away. Please make sure your child has all supplies, headphones and a change of clothes in case of spills, recess mud or bathroom accidents. The PE teachers encourage extra gym shoes in lockers. With PE first thing in the morning shoes tend to get wet outside until the dew dries. If you ordered school supplies from the PTA, I will have those boxes in the classroom (remember the change of clothes and extra PE shoes, though). Kids will be keeping most supplies in their desks but I will be collecting some, as well, to share as a class.

Water Bottles and Snacks

Water bottles are strongly encouraged in our classroom to either be left at school or brought back and forth each day. Please make sure the water bottle has a top that flips up or has a straw rather than one that the kids unscrew to drink from to help minimize and prevent spills. Kids are also encouraged to bring a fruit or vegetable snack each day. The snack must not have any other ingredients just fresh fruit and vegetables. It is helpful to write your child's name on the container, if the snack is needing to be in one, so we can make sure the container gets back to your home each day. Please also write your child's name on the baggie or skin of bananas, oranges or clementines in Sharpie marker so kid's snacks do not get mixed up with other kid's snacks. It is helpful to start the peeling process on oranges and clementines if sending them in whole. Finally,  please provide a fork or spoon for snacks, as needed.

Arrival and Dismissal 

We will meet out at the playground on day one of school only when the kids arrive, but the kids will come in through the front doors every day after that. All kids will leave school out the front doors at the end of every school day.

Please review with your child how he/she is getting home the first few days of school...bus, pick up, walking home, meeting a sibling and moving forward after week one of school. I will be asking your child how he/she is getting home the first few days of school so your child knows where to go at the end of the school day.  Remember, Fridays are early release days with school ending at 2:15.
