Life Science is the study of living things and why we consider them alive.
This year we will study:

- What are the tools and methods used in scientific discovery?
- Characteristics of Life
- What makes something alive, dead or nonliving?
- Cell Structure
- What parts make up different cells and what are the purposes of these parts?
- Cell Processes
- How do plant cells store energy from the sun, how do your cells get energy, and how does everything stay balanced?
- Genetics and Heredity
- How are traits passed from parents to offspring?
- Evolution
- How does the environment an organism lives in affect what genes are passed on to the next generation?
- The Human Body
- How do our various body systems work together to keep us alive?
- How do vaccines work with our immune system to help protect us from disease?
- Ecology
- How do living things interact with each other and their environment?
