COVID

First responder vaccinations starting for North County week of January 10th. Coordinated through our regional emergency planning committee. Participated in a walk through demonstration on 1/7. No vaccine provided then, just an opportunity to see the operation and to allow testing of time and protocols.

Vaccination information - state continues to provide guidance in what has been a fast developing situation. Up to date information on availability at https://www.mass.gov/info-details/when-can-i-get-the-covid-19-vaccine. As availability to more of the population, information will be there and we expect we will be working with county and regional partners to facilitate access. Right now, there is still a lot we don't know. The briefing I attended last week through MMA for municipal executives provided some more background -- there is a good summary in the most recent MMA Beacon

While it is refreshing to see a potential end as vaccines roll out, it is worthwhile to note that it will not be immediate. Right now, it's expected that the general population vaccination timeframe will begin in April. Given the practical nature of getting to a critical mass of people vaccinated, and bearing in mind that the process requires 2 shots and then a period thereafter to be full effective, it is unlikely that an indoor Town Meeting at WES in May will be appropriate. To that end, I would suggest that we begin making plans for one more outdoor meeting in early June at Weston Field.
