BUILDING
Ryan and Tim have been busy with progress inspections on the many commercial and several large residential projects in active in town. Annual Inspections for Liquor License holders are underway and so far the response to the digital online combined application process has been positive. Renewing establishments, already having information in the system, should have an even more streamlined process in 2019.
A meeting was held on Thursday 10.25 to restart the St. Anthony Hall renovation project. Building permits were issued for Cable Mill phase 2 earlier in October.
HEALTH
Jeff has been performing rental inspections and check ins on restaurants as of late. The Board of Health has also been receiving applications as part of the combined renewal process.
LAND USE
Conservation Commission has approved several emergency certifications for flood damage repair over the last few weeks. They will also be looking at an amendment to an Order of Conditions for a driveway on Petersburg Road on Thursday 10.25. Con Com has also been working closely with the Williamstown Rural Lands Foundation (WRLF) to pursue the idea of partnering with WRLF for assistance in land stewardship and maintenance of hiking trails on Town lands. This discussion is a result of the WRLF inquiry regarding a possible Town Trail Committee. The Commission is working towards having a formal proposal near the beginning of 2019.
Planning Board continues is research into accessory dwelling units. Members have also been pursuing new training opportunities. Several members attended a presentation on form based design standards by Randall Arendt in Bennington recently. Members will also be attending Citizen's Planner Training Collaborative seminars throughout the remainder of 2018.
Zoning Board has recently received an application from Habitat for Humanity for a project to construct two homes at the corner of Cole and Maple. This will be presented on 11.15
