The Council was created by Governor Charlie Baker who announced his intention to look at the rapidly expanding elder population in the Commonwealth during his "State of the Commonwealth" address in January.

They'll will ultimately report their findings to the Governor upon the completion of their work.

Governor Baker will sign his Executive Order establishing the Council in a ceremony on the 12th at the Age Center at MIT in Cambridge.
