Village Ambulance Update

The College, through Jim Kolesar, has convened a group to investigate strategies to address the challenges faced by Village Ambulance Service. Participants include Andy Hogeland, Jason Hoch (Town) Mike Witkowski, Win Stuebner (Village), Ed McGowan, Craig Pedercini (Fire), Elaine Neely (FinCom), Jim Kolesar (Williams).

It has been reported and discussed elsewhere, but Village will provide an overview of the current situation. The working group is recommending hiring a consultant specializing the analysis EMS operations to review a range of options related to current operation of service and possible alternatives including, but not limited to, regionalization, collaboration with Fire District, and revision to service levels. Our estimate is that this review will cost up to $20,000 and will provide an informed baseline of information to make decisions about next steps. The working group is recommending that four participants (Village, Town, Fire, Williams), all share in equal parts in the cost of this study. On the Town end, I intend to cover this commitment (up to $5000) through the project money we have remaining in the budget.
