Happy New Year! The first 10 days of 2017 have been busy, and the most profound honor of taking the Oath of Office to serve as your State Senator was realized on January 4th. Since that time I have completed my hiring decisions, assembled a talented Senate team, and opened three offices in Pittsfield, Williamsburg and in the State House on Beacon Hill. My staff and I are here, ready to work, and look forward to hearing from you!

SENATOR HINDS ANNOUNCES STAFF, CONTACT INFORMATION AND OFFICE LOCATIONS
BOSTON – State Senator Adam G. Hinds (D- Pittsfield) announces today that his Senate staff team is fully assembled and ready to work, and that residents, businesses, local officials and communities within his Berkshire, Hampshire, Franklin & Hampden District have access to their expertise and assistance in three new office locations.
Hinds said, “This is a team that is proactive, responsive and engaged. I made sure the team is accessible, we have three office locations and plans for regular office hours in all regions of the district.”
Office Locations/Contact Information:
Hinds’ primary district office is located at 100 North Street, Suite 410, in Pittsfield. It is open Monday through Friday during normal business hours. Appointments are encouraged but walk-ins are also welcome. Contact the district office at PHONE NUMBER. This is the primary phone number for constituents living in Berkshire County.
A second district staff office will be located at 16 Main Street in Williamsburg, at Commons Co-working. Hinds’ part-time Hilltown Community Liaison will from this space on Wednesdays and Fridays, and can be reached by calling (413) 768-2373. This is the primary phone number for constituents living in the 20 towns Hinds’ represents in Franklin, Hampshire and Hampden Counties.
On Beacon Hill, Hinds has temporarily been assigned to State House, Room 413-F, in the East Wing. His phone number is (617) 722-1625 and his Senate email is Adam.Hinds@masenate.gov. The policy team will work out of this Boston office; contact them for assistance with budget and policy matters, as well as for scheduling requests and media relations.

Introducing Team Hinds:

Bethann Steiner, Chief of Staff. Bethann brings significant experience in Massachusetts state government to her position, with more than 16 years of public service in the Legislature, the Executive Branch and, most recently, at the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative (MassTech), a quasi-public state economic development agency. Bethann has held several positions of leadership. She served as Chief of Staff to former Senator Benjamin Downing from 2007-2015. Prior to working with Senator Downing she managed public affairs and legislative relations for the former state Executive Office of Environmental Affairs and as a policy and budget research analyst in the Office of former State Representative Daniel Bosley. Most recently, Bethann worked as the Strategic Initiatives Manager at MassTech, leading the agency’s International Enterprise Initiative. Bethann is from Dalton and holds an MSW in Policy and Planning from the UConn School of Social Work as well as a bachelor’s degree from Marist College.
Christopher Dunne, Legislative & Budget Director. Chris serves as Legislative & Budget Director, managing Senator Hinds’ budget and policy agenda and overseeing the work of the Joint Committee Hinds’ will soon chair. A graduate of Bennington College with a concentration in political science, Chris also studied abroad, taking classes at the London School of Economics and interning with a member of the UK Parliament. After earning his bachelor’s degree, Chris worked for former Senator Gale Candaras, managing constituent casework in her district office. Most recently he worked for former Senator Ben Downing, first as a Legislative Aide focusing on healthcare policy, then promoted to Legislative Director. Chris, who is from Northampton, is currently completing a Master’s in Public Administration program at UMass Boston.
Vasundhra Sangar, Legislative Aide. As Legislative Aide, Vasundhra will assist in the advancement of the Senator’s budget and policy agenda and manage his legislative correspondence platform. Vasundhra began working in politics as a student intern for U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren’s 2012 campaign. After graduation, she returned home to Windsor and served as a volunteer in Senator Downing’s Pittsfield office. Quickly identified as a valuable member of the team, she was hired to serve as District Aide, managing the Senator’s extensive constituent services operation. Vasundhra also served as Downing’s appointee to the Berkshire Community Action Council (BCAC) Board of Directors. Vasundhra was promoted to Director of Constituent Services in 2015 and transferred to the State House office, where she began to engage on legislative and policy matters. Vasundhra is a graduate of Boston University where she studied the Classics.
Alfred Enchill Jr., “A.J.”, District Aide. A.J. was born and raised in Pittsfield and recently graduated from Tufts University, where he was an American Studies major. A.J. enjoys spending time with his family, and playing lacrosse with friends in his backyard. After graduation, he moved back to Pittsfield to be a part of the Berkshire community that gave him so much. In his free time A.J. avidly reads or watches historical documentaries. A.J. will serve as the staff point for constituents and communities in Berkshire County and work from the Pittsfield office. He serves as Hinds’ appointee to the Berkshire Community Action Council (BCAC) Board of Directors.
Jon Gould, Hilltown Community Liaison. Jon serves as Hinds’ part-time district aide for the 20 towns in Franklin, Hampshire, and Hampden Counties that are part of the Senate district. In addition to working for Senator Hinds, Gould teaches English at Holyoke Community College. He formerly was a journalist and taught English in two Franklin County high schools. He lives with his wife and two children in Williamsburg where he serves as an elected trustee for the town’s libraries. Jon will split his time in Pittsfield (on Monday) and Williamsburg (on Wednesday and Friday)
