A few numbers to smile about;

Our grant driven “healthy aging activities” programs have been very successful and that’s reflected in the numbers of participants utilizing these programs. From January thru the end of April, we have enrolled 23 separate individuals participating in the Yoga classes, 37 are involved with the exercise class, 14 are in the Tai Chi class and 21 folks joined the new balance/avoid falls class we created in January. (Of course the duplicated numbers, totals for each class completed and added in total for each of these classes are in the hundreds, they each meet at least twice weekly) We’re really pleased with the numbers of individuals who are taking the time out of their daily schedules to work out with us, and to work on their own physical well-being. Healthy activity indeed!

Additionally, since January, our outreach person, Marion Quinn-Jowett has had over 500 separate contacts to provide information on services, assist people with applications, make referrals, all sorts of activity. Some of her contacts have been simple telephone calls, consultations here at the office, or out there in the community. These are individuals contacting us for one reason or another. Got a problem? Who you gonna call? 458.8250.

More to follow!
