Tim Rischling has been the band director at Westside Middle School since 2019 and currently serves as the WMS music department chair. Mr. Rischling is from Alliance, NE and graduated from Alliance High School in 2004. He attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and earned his Bachelor of Music Education degree in 2008. Mr. Rischling also received his Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from Doane University in 2021.
Previously, Mr. Rischling taught for 7 years at Westside High School as the assistant band director from 2012-2019. Prior to teaching at Westside Community Schools, he was the band director at Wahoo Public Schools teaching 5th-12th grade bands from 2009-2012. In 2016, Mr. Rischling was awarded the Jack R. Snider Young Band Director Award. He is an active member of the Nebraska State Bandmasters Association (NSBA).
Mr. Rischling comes from a long tradition of music educators in his family that includes his father, grandfather, several aunts, uncles, and siblings dedicating their lives to the profession. He has an amazing and supportive wife, Jenny, along with their three children, son Jack, and twin daughters, Anabelle and Lily.
