Lindsey Bogatz has taught numerous private students, served as an adjudicator and clinician, and taught in various schools for 10 years. Previously to her appointment at Westside High School, Lindsey taught High School Band at Elkhorn South, worked as visual technician for Omaha Central High School, taught 5th-8th grade band in Music in Catholic Schools, and recently served as the General Business Manager for the Nebraska Wind Symphony. She is also the music director for her hometown Beatrice Community Band during the summer and serves as the co-conductor of the Papillion Area Concert Band.
Lindsey holds a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. During her time at UNL she played the tuba and served as drum major of the Cornhusker Marching Band and participated in many other band ensembles. Lindsey also holds a Master of Music with an emphasis in Wind Band Conducting from University of Nebraska at Omaha. During her studies at UNO she was the Band Graduate Teaching Assistant and was involved in all aspects of the band program both as an assistant and as a musician.
Lindsey has been married to fellow music teacher Doug Bogatz since 2011 and they live in Bennington with their son Gordon (born 2018), daughter Dorothy (born 2022), and cats Penny and Boots. In her very small amount of free time, Lindsey enjoys walking, cooking, reading books, watching TV, and adding to her book of quotes.
