Accounting 2

Course Description:

This course is designed to help students acquire a more thorough, in depth knowledge of accounting procedures and techniques utilized in solving business problems and making financial decisions.  Students will develop skills in analyzing and interpreting information common to partnerships and corporations, preparing formal statements and supporting schedules, and using inventory and budgetary control systems.  Computer applications should be integrated in each appropriate instructional unit.

• 11-12 grades, 1 credit. Prerequisite: Accounting I, 1 credit. 

• Independent Study Class

• Complete the accounting cycle for a merchandising corporation.

• Analyze documentaries about accounting fraud.

Accounting II Topics

• Perform accounting adjustments for assets, depreciation and taxes.

• Perform the accounting cycle for a corporation.

• Perform the accounting cycle for a departmentalized business using special journals and ledgers.

• Learn about merchandise inventory and uncollectible accounts.
