Mrs. Rodgers has taught in the WESD for 17 years as a 1st, 2nd, and Academic Intervention Specialist teacher (K-6).  She received her BA in Elementary Education and Masters in for English as a Second Language through Arizona State University.  She also has her ELL, Reading, and Early Childhood Endorsement, as well as, her Keys to Literacy Dyslexia Training.  Mrs. Rodgers loves to mentor, teach, and support teachers within the WESD and through ASU.  She has mentored 12 ASU iTeach student teachers, was a WESD BEGIN Cadre Leader for 4 years, and continues to support teachers around Sahuaro Elementary.  In 2015, Mrs. Rodgers received the Lamp Of Learning Award to recognize her outstanding service to the children and the school district as well as Mentor of the Year through ASU for her high success in mentoring future teachers. She will do what ever it takes to support children and other educators!

When she isn't teaching, she enjoys singing, running, hiking, listening to music, spending time with her family/friends, playing with her dog (Clark), and furthering her education.  Mrs. Rodgers's  is involved with a nonprofit, Random Acts, helping spread kindness and teaching others how to care for one another through random acts of kindness.  Lastly, she loves to smile and spread cheer wherever she goes!

Mrs. Wan

Mrs. Wan has been a part of the WESD since she student taught at Sahuaro in 2018. She graduated in December 2018 from ASU with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. This year, Mrs. Wan is entering her 6th school year with the WESD. Since graduating, Mrs. Wan has taught both 1st and 2nd grade, hosted a student teacher from ASU, and is now entering her second year of being an Academic Intervention Specialist teaching K-3 students in the learning lab. She has her SEI endorsement and has completed the Keys to Literacy Dyslexia Training. 

Mrs. Wan was born and raised in Arizona and has one older sister (who is now an office tech at Sahuaro!). In December of 2018, she married her high school sweetheart. This March, they brought a beautiful baby girl into the world! When Mrs. Wan isn't at school, she enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and dog (Smokey Bear), going on weekend road trips, watching TV, and photography. She loves everything Disney and pop culture!
