This year, through a careful and thoughtful study of literature, we will celebrate and question what it means for us to be human. We will examine our ongoing struggle to assert our position amongst our peers, and reflect on the ways we develop wisdom because of, and in spite of, more powerful influences. We will testify to the worth of others' lives by listening to their stories, and carve a space in the world for ourselves by writing our own narratives. We will consider the impact of time and place, of evil and faith, on personal growth and the evolution of love. And perhaps we will decide how we want to use our understanding of the past to inspire change in the future.
