Students from our Youth Stand Academy, the BCS after-school program at M.S. 409 in East New York, recently got a tour of the IBM Watson offices and development space in New York City. IBM Watson is a technology platform that uses natural language processing and machine learning to reveal insights from large amounts of unstructured data. It's being used by businesses, healthcare professionals, and universities across the globe. Local universities they have partnered with include Columbia, NYU, Cooper Union, and CUNY. Our students enjoyed and were inspired by interactive workshops on how to work as a team and several fun activities related to agile development. Overall, it was a day to remember.
