Paige G. Elliott is a native of Fuquay-Varina. The daughter of a retired Naval officer who transitioned into teaching for 15 years after his military retirement and a supportive mother who served the NC Supreme Court, Ms. Elliott is a National Board Certified Teacher who holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Education, both from North Carolina State University; she earned her Masters in School Administration from East Carolina University. In summary, Elliott served 15 years of teaching English 9-12 in Wake County Public School System, was a co-instructor for the National Writing Project's Capital Area Writing Project Summer Institute at NC State for 9 years, and has been an Assistant Principal since 2012.
Elliott earned the title of 2007-2008 Wake County Public School System's Teacher of the Year and 2008-2009 North Carolina Teacher of the Year for North Central Region, positions in which she served a multitude of capacities. She has written various articles for local publications, like Wake Education, regarding Teacher Leadership and Professional Learning Communities. Her presentations include, but are not limited to Unique Writing Approaches, Differentiated Instruction and Assessment, Best Practices, and Tips and Tricks: Effective Organization, Communication, and Management in the Educational Environment.
Elliott currently administrates as an assistant principal at her middle school alma mater, Fuquay-Varina Middle School. As an assistant principal, Elliott recently succeeded in renewing her National Board Certified Teacher status in November 2014, a recognition that is valid for the next 10 years, making her a 20-year NBCT. Paige G. Elliott strongly believes that education is everyone’s responsibility and that teachers have an obligation to embody the idea that they are professionals with a specialization in education. She also believes that all students can learn and deserve a quality education.
