Get Ready for First Grade!

Here is a list of the Dolch 220 most frequently used words in text. Trust me...Your child will be a more confident and successful reader knowing these words. They are commonly called sight words because you cannot sound most of them out and you should know them as soon as you see them. After years and years of experience teaching first grade, I can confidently tell you that students who quickly read 50-60 of these words  in September  are typically reading at the grade expectation for first grade.
