AP Spanish - The AP Spanish Language and Culture course is a rigorous course taught exclusively in Spanish. It focuses on improving language proficiency and cultural knowledge through the integration of authentic resources and thematic units known as Temas. Through each Tema, students will learn appropriate contextual vocabulary, reinforce challenging grammatical structures, comprehend the subject of the unit theme, and write a well-organized essay on the learned information to place in their class portfolio. Students will be able to scribe and speak with advanced vocabulary and linguistic structures by the end of this course.

Course Disclosures for Viewing, Downloading, and Printing:

Students enrolled in this course may opt out of the AP Spanish test and have the course credited as DLI Spanish 5 Honors as opposed to AP Spanish.

Dual Immersion – Dual immersion is a way to learn academic content while acquiring another language at the same time. Students receive math, science, or social studies instruction in a target language, such as Spanish, French, or Chinese. Because of the teaching strategies used, the students learn the concepts and skills for the subject area and develop the ability to read, write, speak, and listen in another language.

If you are going to be absent for more than two days, please let me know in advance so I can have the documents ready for you. If you are going to be absent for a longer period of time, I can email, mail, leave them at the office for pick up, or fax some of the documents to you, that way you can start working on them. If it is only a day you are absent, you can pick up your documents from the absent box in our classroom.
