Schedule

WAGS will be held virtually on Friday afternoon, April 23, and Saturday, April 24, 2021.  

For this iteration of WAGS, we are especially interested in highlighting and promoting early career mathematicians and their research.  The conference will include:

• A panel on How to get the most out of a conference

• A mixture of long and short talks: abstracts

• Office hours with established mathematicians: introductions 

• Social events

We are asking interested participants (regardless of career stage) to submit information for virtual introductions that will play as a slideshow during the conference.  Please fill out the following form:

About WAGS

WAGS is a twice-yearly meeting of algebraic geometers in the western half of the United States and Canada that traces its origins back to the Utah-UCLA Algebraic Geometry Seminar started in 1989. Long term planning for WAGS is currently being organized by Aaron Bertram, Sebastian Casalaina-Martin, Renzo Cavalieri, Edray Goins, Dagan Karp, Sándor Kovács, Ravi Vakil, Bianca Viray, and Burt Totaro. Diversity

We hope to broaden the community of algebraic geometers. All are welcome to attend. We especially encourage participation from women and members of groups traditionally under-represented in mathematics. The Diversity Committee for WAGS consists of Edray Goins, Jose Gonzalez, and Bianca Viray.

Location

The meeting will take place virtually.  All talks will be held over Zoom and the social events will be held over Gather.Town.  The Zoom link will be emailed to registered participants prior to the start of the conference.

WAGS is partially supported by the National Science Foundation and by the Department of Mathematics and the College of Natural Sciences at Colorado State University.  We ask that all participants fill out the registration form to help us with NSF reporting and note that registering for WAGS is free.
