About Me

Hi, and welcome to First Grade!!  My name is Colleene Termine and I am very excited to be your child's teacher this year.  This is my 12th year teaching and my 7th year in first grade.  I have previously taught Kindergarten both at Visitation and one year in public school.  I am very blessed to call Visitation my second home.  I graduated from Archbishop Blenk High School and received my bachelor's degree from UNO.  I always knew I wanted to be a teacher and I am excited to be living my dream.

I have been married to my wonderful husband Cory for 26 years and we have two amazing sons who both attended VOL from PK3-7th grade.  My oldest son Bailey lives in Lafayette and works with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office, and my youngest, Brandon works at Blue Bell.  We have a German Shepherd puppy, Dixie, who is partially blind and is spoiled rotten!!

I love spending time with my family and friends and that usually means people are always at my house.  I love anything related to Disney or Harry Potter!!! One of my favorite things to do is take the doors and top off my Jeep and ride to the Lakefront or the coast.  I am a proud LSU fan and will watch the Cubs play ball every chance I can!!

I am very blessed to have Ms. Bonnie as my assistant this year!!  She has been at Visitation for many years both as a parent and as a faculty member.  I couldn't do my job without her, she will be a huge help to me and to our classroom!!

I believe if a child is not learning the way I am teaching, I need to change the way I teach!!  I look forward to bringing out the best in my students and hope they love to learn as much as I love to teach!!

The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.
