Reassessment Policy and Competency Based Grading
Reassessment Policy and Competency-Based Grading
Students will reassess assessments when they do not show understanding of a concept (D+ and below). Students must demonstrate a grade of C- or above to show proficiency.
Students are required to complete the following before reassessing:
1. Student will complete teacher assigned problems in order to relearn the Learning Target. This must be completed BEFORE taking the reassessment.
2. Student will conference with the teacher before school, after school or during seminar regarding all homework or practice problems. This time is designed to receive help to master the material. You are welcome during seminar...however, if it gets too busy, I may ask you to schedule another time to meet with me.
3. The reassessment test can be taken when the student has all re-practice and re-learning with the teacher and has set up an appropriate time that works for both of us.
4. A student is only allowed to reassess a learning target ONCE. (Should you receive a non-passing score, the procedures above will be repeated.
5. Reassessments should be taken prior to the next test, preferably within 7 days of the first test.
