Expectations:
Responsibility. Practice is given daily to aid in skill mastery. It is due the following day. I am available in class, seminar, advisory and before/after school if extra help is needed, so PLEASE come and see me! If you know you are going to miss class, plan ahead.
Respect. I expect students to show respect to me and each other by listening and acknowledging uniquenesses in a polite and understanding way. I will show respect to students as well by adhering to the same principles.
Promptness. Students need to be on time to class and be prepared with practice in hand and ready to go.
Communication. Please email or call if questions arise with your child. I will also call and/or email parents regarding any situations with successes, behavior and/or academics.
Safe Environment. Students should feel safe physically, emotionally and mentally. Students are expected to behave in a mature, appropriate way by keeping to their personal space and keeping rude comments to their self.
Computers/Cell phones. These items are to remain put away during class unless otherwise noted. There will definitely be times when computers are necessary, so be sure they are charged nightly.
Balance. Work hard, play hard! Students who get work done and give 100% effort are going to experience success. Yes you have sports and family commitments. Be efficient with your time and use your resources to keep everything in check.
Participate. We take notes daily. These are great reference points when doing your practice work. Students who are engaged and participate in class discussion also gain confidence in their skills and retain information longer. It also makes class more fun and enjoyable for everyone!
