Each student will be assigned a week during the school year to be "The Star of the Week" This schedule will begin in late September. Listed below are the activities that are completed during the star's week.
The following activities are completed by our star each week:
Monday-"Poster Day"-Our Star will read/share their completed “Science About Me” poster with the class. Posters will be provided for students.
Tuesday-"Sharing/Teaching of Talent/Skill Day"-Our star will share/teach something that they can do well with the class. Everyone is good at something! Think about what special talent/skill/knowledge you have (be creative) that you would like to share with the class. Today is your day to be a "Star Teacher" for your classmates!
Wednesday-"Mystery Bag Day" -Our star will bring in one special artifact that is very special to them and hide it in a mystery bag. They must be prepared with three clues about the artifact for their classmates to guess, along with a background story about the item. Classmates are encouraged to ask questions about the artifact for the star to answer.
Thursday-"Share a Book Day"-Our star will bring a favorite book to school to read to the class. If the star prefers the teacher will read the book.
Friday-"Snack Day (optional), Sign Poster Day, Write Letters Day". We will complete the star’s poster with our signatures on the back as a special keepsake. A snack is optional but if the star brings one in we will share it together. Each class member will write the star a letter detailing what they admire about the star. These letters will be combined into a book for the star to keep.
