VHS Classroom Expectations & Rules

1. Follow all guidelines set forth in the VHS Student Handbook. Be respectful, be responsible, and be safe.

2. Do your best in everything you do in this class! Students are expected to complete work thoroughly and to the absolute best of their ability. Students are expected to complete all assignments in order to pass this class. Students are expected to complete homework, come prepared for class each day, and participate in class discussions. Students are expected to come to class on time, have required materials, and be prepared to work on the assignment given.


3. NO CELL PHONES!*

First Offense: phone taken for remainder of period; verbal warning

Second Offense: phone taken for remainder of school day

Third Offense: phone taken and turned into main office; student given written warning by office; can pick up phone at end of day

Fourth Offense: phone taken and turned into main office; parents notified; only parents can retrieve phone

*Exceptions:

There may be times in which the instructor allows students to look up research and/or reference images in class. Cell phones are allowed during those times when the instructor makes it clear that they are allowed for research purposes or for typing on Google Docs.

I also allow devices to be used in my art classes to listen to music while following these guidelines: one ear phone only to allow students to hear me, music is not heard through ear phones, student is able to remain on task while listening to music, student is only using device to listen to music (no games, texting, etc.) Devices and ear buds must be put away during assessments.
