Acceptable Use Policy > an agreement or contract that describes expectations and responsibilities of end-users . . . students are required to sign an acceptable use policy for the privilege of using technology . . . see your building secretary if you need a copy
Blog > web log . . . a discussion page where you can post entries or opinions on the world wide web
Browsers > applications used to access the world wide web . . . we use safari and firefox, but there are other browsers like internet explorer and google chrome
HTML > hypertext markup language . . . the publishing language for the world wide web
Hyperlink > words or images that when clicked lead to another place in a document or a page on the world wide web
Images > photos and icons . . . photos are usually in a png, jpeg, tiff, or gif format dependent on the image's use . . . if you are using images from the internet, they should be free for use and you should cite the source
Menu > just like in a restaurant . . . read the menu so you can order what you want, some menus are on the left side, right side, top of the page, or bottom of the page
Navigation > how you get around a website . . . I have intentionally left certain types of navigation off some of my pages so you have to look for the menus or links to get around

Search Engine > google, bing, yahoo, . . . to name a few . . . you use a search engine to find websites on the world wide web . . . web designers can specify "tags" that assist or hit on certain words in searches, that is why it is so important to use a smart search
World Wide Web > www = interlinked web pages accessible through the internet . . . not all sites start with www, but many do . . . all the information that you can access on the internet is called the world wide web . . . you are using it now
