KATE VERBOOM           katherineverboom@utexas.edu

Kate was born and raised in Augusta, Georgia. She graduated with a B.S. in Chemistry from Georgia Southern University in May 2020. While there, she worked under the mentorship of Dr. Abid Shaikh, where she studied the electrolytic oxidative coupling of aldehydes and alcohols to form esters, as well as a DAST-mediated Friedel-Crafts alkylation. In 2020, Kate joined the Krische group and is interested in both total synthesis and method development.
