This page will help give you information and video lectures for your specific class. Please click on the recordings page for the video lessons. Please be aware that this is a college level class. Expectations for you as a student are very high. I am here to support you, and you need to make sure that you read all communication from me and the university. Coursework:
All coursework will be completed in MyMathLab.
Math 1040 (Spring 2021)
To start, please thoroughly read the course syllabus. This will be your ultimate guide to the course. Pay special attention to the calendar at the end of the document. As you are working on the class, you can find video lessons that I have created for each section on the recordings page. Please follow the schedule in the course syllabus to help pace yourself throughout the semester. Deadlines are firm and set by the university. I cannot give you extra time on any assignments or tests. All extensions have to be approved by the university math department, and those extensions are extremely rare.
Unlike high school courses, college classes are heavily graded on test scores. Tests will account for 70% of your grade in this class. Please prepare well and study hard for exams. Cramming the night before rarely leads to a good outcome. Assignments will account for 30% of your grade. You have unlimited attempts on each homework assignment, and you must score at least 70% on each assignment in order to take the corresponding exam. If you are struggling, please contact me! All coursework will be done in a program called MyMathLab. I highly recommend you bookmark the page.
All tests in the class will be proctored in Canvas using Proctorio. See Canvas for more details.
Again, please make sure you read and are familiar with the course syllabus. This will be your ultimate guide during the semester.
