Summer Individual Lifetime Activities

Welcome to class! I am so excited to have you in my course this semester! I look forward to getting to know each of you, and helping you achieve your goals! You can expect to have a great time learning to implement the course content you will be learning online. This semester class will help you understand the importance of developing and maintaining an active lifestyle. As a result of this class, you will learn how to make positive choices that will improve your health and fitness.

There are 2 parts to this P.E. class:

    1. Online Coursework = 50% of your grade.

    2. Your physical activities/exercise = 50%

Plan on spending about 1 hour per week working on the online coursework each week. You have 3 attempts on all tests and quizzes, which gives you great control over your grade. I keep the highest score. If you pass the pretest with 80%+, you can take the pretest grade for the section and skip the lesson.

You must complete 30 hours of physical activities throughout the summer semester (you may not count your exercise hours that you completed before the semester starts.) You may not count your exercise hours that you have done before the semester started. They all need to be done during summer semester. You may choose your activities, as long as they elevate your heart rate. Running, basketball, football, biking, swimming, hiking, walking, weight-lifting, yoga, Zumba, etc. (anything that raises your heart rate) are acceptable. You may complete these hours at your own pace, but sooner is better since they influence your grade. Also, if you are taking more than one PE class this summer, you may not count your hours in one class for the second class. You will need to complete a total of 60 hours of activity if you are taking 2 classes.

HERE is the direct link to the form to log your hours. Have your parent email me to verify your hours after you have logged them on the form.

*Filling out the Google Form is key because that is where I look to see how many hours you've done so far for the semester. Your fitness log in Edgenuity can help you keep track of your hours, but I will only check my Google Form to find your exercise hours and record your score.
