Supervisor Name in Papers.
The names in a research paper is set as per amount of contributions made by each author. Usually the first author is the one with maximum intellectual and scientific contribution in the paper. The second and third author are also mentioned as per their contributions. Usually nowadays, most universities and journal recommend the supervisor name as last name in list. This would highlight and identify the last name as supervisor and first name as main contributor as principle researcher.
I also know multiple high impact journals asking for a declaration letter clearly mentioning contributions of each author in paper.
Hence, your supervisor has no moral or ethical right of asking to put his/her name as main first author. As this will be considered as intellectual theft of research work and could be punishable.
