Resources through the Department of Children & Families
MST Services | Multisystemic Therapy for Juveniles, Empowering Families, Transforming Lives
Multisystemic Therapy (MST) is an intensive, evidence-based treatment delivered directly in the home to help adolescents (ages 12–17) and their families. By focusing on the youth's natural environment—including family, peers, school, and neighborhood—MST creates lasting, positive change.
Why MST Works
Empowers Parents: Provides the skills and resources needed to manage adolescent challenges independently.
Proven Results: Reduces antisocial behavior and substance use while improving family functioning and school performance.
Keeps Families Together: Specifically designed to prevent the need for out-of-home placements.
Accessible Support: Services are tailored to each youth’s needs with 24/7 therapist availability.
Duration: Intensive treatment typically lasts approximately four months.
Setting: Therapy occurs in the home to overcome barriers to service and increase engagement.
Family Preservation - TFI Kansas, Case Management and Therapeutic Services
All Family Preservation cases will be assigned a case manager and a family support worker. Each case will be assessed for the need for therapeutic intervention and TFI will provide therapeutic services where applicable. All families will receive case management services to help create stability and long-lasting safety in their homes. TFI strives to promote healthy relationships between parents and their children to prevent children from entering foster care. TFI collaborates with the Department of Children and Families (DCF) to ensure that families in need are getting the support, guidance and help they need.
TFI utilizes trauma-informed practices in the Family Preservation Program. These include Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), Alternative Families Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (AF-CBT), Solutions-Based Case Management (SBC) and Strengthening Families.
Crisis Hotline: On weekends and in the event of a crisis in which you are unable to reach your assigned worker, please contact our 24-hour crisis line, 877-921-4114. Assigned case workers and therapists are available 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday through Friday.
Family Centered Treatment® - Saint Francis Ministries, Building Stronger Families Through FCT
Family Centered Treatment® (FCT) is a proven, evidence-based method of intensive in-home therapy. It emphasizes empowering the entire family unit to forge a resilient, healthy future together.
Prioritizes keeping families intact by equipping them with strategies and skills to manage daily challenges effectively.
Collaborates with families to recognize and build upon their inherent strengths, ensuring the wellbeing and safety of their children.
Offers clinicians the unique opportunity to observe and interact with families in their most comfortable setting – their home. This direct engagement facilitates immediate intervention in adverse behaviors and reinforcement of positive life choices.
