It is the intent of the USD 206 Board of Education to honor and recognize classified and certified staff members that provide outstanding service to the students of Remington. The program guidelines are as follows:

A. A nomination form will be available throughout the district for nominations. USD 206 staff and school patrons are welcome and encouraged to nominate deserving staff members for consideration by the Board of Education. Remington staff members making a nomination to the recognition program will be eligible for a gift card drawing each nomination deadline.

B. There will be one classified and one certified staff member selected each school semester. Nominations are due November 1 and April 1 to the Board Clerk. Nominees may only be selected for the same award once every 3 years.

C. The Fall semester honorees will be recognized at the December USD 206 Board of Education meeting and the Spring honorees will be recognized at the May USD 206 Board of Education meeting. The honoree and a guest will be invited to a board dinner at 6:00 pm at the board room to be recognized and receive a USD 206 plaque.

D. The honorees may be recognized at yearly celebrations that are scheduled by the Board of Education as well as other recognition opportunities.

E. There will be a Board of Education award history plaque located in the USD 206 board room and on our website.

F. The USD 206 Board of Education, with Administrative Team input, will select a USD 206 Teacher of the Year as a Kansas Teacher of the Year (KTOY) candidate to be announced at the June Board of Education meeting.
