Building Your ePortfolio: There are eight steps necessary in building your ePortfolio.
Collect artifacts across your program,
Select a theme for these artifacts and for your ePortfolio,
Choose artifacts for inclusion in your ePortfolio, including required artifacts that support the theme you have chosen,
Create a web site with digital organizational framework that includes menu links,
Write an introduction to your ePortfolio,
Write captions for each artifact,
Respond to reflective questions, and
Present your ePortfolio to a professional audience.
Process/Time Line
Candidates will begin collecting and storing artifacts during Practicum I.
Create an ePortfolio site on the web and share the address to your site via the 21cPortfolio Information Survey.
During Practicum 2, candidates will begin to establish goals for the electronic portfolio based, in part, on the artifacts already stored.
During student teaching, candidates will continue to identify emerging themes.
Each Site Facilitator will establish a time for student teachers to share their ePortfolios and learning with the faculty at their UNLV/CCSD partnership school.
Site Facilitators will use an assessment rubric to make a final pass/fail evaluation of the ePortfolio.
The Elementary and Secondary Teacher Education Committees will review the assessment data and feedback from the ePortfolio Development Survey for program analyses and program improvement purposes.
