My Philosophy in Teaching:
A philosophy of teaching statement is a narrative that includes your conception of teaching and learning, a description of how you teach and justification for why you teach that way.
The wide range of material and techniques that can be used in class room, includes the speed with which the discipline is developing, and the diversity of our students, all drive a need for a wide range of teaching approaches. These include more student engagement, inquiry based activities, teamwork, paperless lecturing and multiple evaluation approaches. The lectures should be creative, interactive, and also need to be flexible in responding to student feedback
I believe that lectures should be augmented with hands-on practical approaches that enhance student learning and equips students with the technical skills and knowledge required for their careers. I am also interested in creating and maintaining student led mini-projects, work together to complete independent research, and collaborate as colleagues. I will encourage students to participate in my research with well-defined projects that lead to the mastery and application of basic research techniques and include poster or oral presentation at regional to international level conferences.
