The general duties involve the provision of assistance to students and providing the theoretical concepts of the experiments and the techniques and methods which employed. Ensuring that students follow the general safety regulations for the laboratory and any specific precautions for each experiment. In addition, ensuring that students clear away their materials and apparatus at the end of each practice session, following the correct disposal procedures if necessary. Another duty was the coordination with the course organizer to ensure that the class is not left unsupervised at any time. In the event of an accident or emergency. Should the fire alarm sound, the duty was to ensure that the students switch off all services and equipment immediately and that, so far as possible, they leave by the emergency exits. This leaves corridors free for other personnel to use.
