At the Mathematics department, I am teaching two courses namely;
1. Finite of Mathematics.
2. Numerical Analysis with MATLAB.
My Philosophy in Teaching
My teaching philosophy in mathematics revolves around three key principles: fostering conceptual understanding, promoting active engagement, and cultivating critical thinking skills.
Firstly, I strongly believe in the importance of developing a deep conceptual understanding of mathematical concepts. Rather than focusing solely on rote memorisation and procedural knowledge, I emphasise the underlying principles and connections within mathematics. By helping students grasp the "why" behind mathematical ideas, I aim to provide them with a solid foundation that allows for meaningful learning and the ability to apply mathematical knowledge in various contexts.
Secondly, I believe in promoting active engagement in the learning process. Mathematics is not a passive subject to be absorbed through lectures alone. Instead, I encourage students to actively participate by asking questions, engaging in discussions, and solving problems. Through hands-on activities, group work, and real-world applications, students are able to explore mathematical concepts, develop problem-solving skills, and gain a deeper appreciation for the subject.
Lastly, I strive to cultivate critical thinking skills in my students. Mathematics is a discipline that encourages logical reasoning, analysis, and creative problem-solving.
